INTENTION OF THE SHOW – Making It Work, a weekly podcast show, hopes to connect us to why we want to live in the San Francisco Bay Area and how we place our unique stamp on it.

Making It Work Radio is a podcast show with a different take on the financial realities of living in the SF Bay Area. In a climate where it has become all too easy to complain about the high cost of living, Making It Work is focused on solutions. Our show shares the stories of people who are here and “making it work,” and strives to inspire listeners inside of this relevant conversation by helping them gain a clearer vision of what their own impact can be, both locally and globally.  We  listen to how people make it work and better yet – WHY? There is a different guest featured in each episode, and each one brings their own special story.

Akeisha Johnson

Co-Producer and Host

Akeisha Johnson is a writer, program director of The Oshun Project, and a life coach. For over ten years, she has studied and practiced in the area of personal development from religion to metaphysics and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Akeisha does her work to provide clients and audiences alike with perspectives around life which are unthought of and unseen; coming from the place that every human being is inherently divine.

Allegra Bandy

Co-Producer, and Production Engineer

Allegra composes original theme music for Making It Work Radio, and there is a different musical theme for each season.  Through her own company, Oddua Productions, Allegra is multimedia producer, creating a variety of content, from audio books, originally composed music, and short films.  As a song writer/composer, producer, performer and recording artist, she incorporates an array of soul, jazz, funk, rock, and world genres into her music. Allegra has performed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, California, and New York, and China for the last 20 years.   Her music is published in the United States, Australia, and the UK, and is enjoyed throughout the world.  Now, working primarily out of Oakland, CA at Oddua Productions, she is engaged in a variety of multi-media projects, from music composition and production, audio book production and publication, voice over acting and narration, and sound engineering (both in the studio and out in the field).  You can find out more about Allegra at her website:  www.allegrabandy.com

Laurie Pantell

Production Assistant

When she was 12 years old, Laurie first visited, and fell in love with, a radio station. The possibility of reaching an audience and shaping messages that touch and inspire was exciting to her, and she has been trying to get back to radio ever since. Laurie is making it work here in the bay area as a psychotherapist, and she loves the process of interviewing people and helping them tell their stories.  When she is not P.A.ing on Making it Work or sitting with clients, Laurie can be found hiking in Oakland parks, doing zumba and yoga at the Berkeley Y, meditating or exploring urban offerings with friends.
